This weekend was all about bad movies and hand cramps as Husbie and I put pen to paper thanking all of our lovely wedding guests for the gifts that they so generously gave to us. I spent most of Saturday and Sunday cutting paper into cards, using our vintage typewriter (which Mom scored at her favorite “boutique” for $5 and gave to me) to spell “thank you” on the front of the cards and then writing a personal note to each guest inside. We did all of this with some GREAT movies on in the background (in case the sarcasm doesn’t quite translate – I’m telling you now that “GREAT” is just dripping in it) such as Miss Congeniality 2 and Twilight: Eclipse which both happened while Husbie was out of the house for a bit on Saturday, and then a little bit of NewsRadio and Undeclared on Netflix on Sunday when Husbie was at home. I’d never get away with Twilight on the TV if Husbie was home!
Once that was done we stuffed them into envelopes, addressed them and stamped them! It was quite the lengthy process and I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed every minute of it, but it really is the best way to communicate our gratefulness to our loved ones. I don’t think I will ever be able to fully express how loved I felt! Now we just have to pop them into a mailbox and the final item on my “wedding list” will be done! Wait, that’s a lie – I still have to get my dress cleaned (note to self). How is it that the “wedding list” never seems to end?
I also had a bit of time to take a bubble bath on Sunday and then cozy up in bed to continue reading the brick of a novel that is ‘A Dance with Dragons’ by George R.R. Martin. Is anyone else as addicted to this series as I am? I swear this latest hardcover is giving my non-existent biceps a workout. That has to count for something right?
