First of all, I apologize for the crazy grainy photos – I was too distracted by the fact that I was under the same roof as a SIR. I got a text from my bestie J last Wednesday morning asking if I wanted to go to the Paul McCartney concert with her because a family friend was giving away their tickets. She had 3 tickets and no one in her family wanted to go with her! Husbie and I jumped at the chance to see one of the Beatles perform and we are so glad that we did! Paul McCartney did not disappoint.
The show was spectacular, even from the nosebleed section. Hey, I’m not complaining, the tickets were FREE! His charisma filled the stadium and his performance was extremely impressive for his age. There was no opening act and he played for three hours – straight. I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of his solo work, so the first bit of the concert – while sounding lovely – was not my favorite. When he started playing the songs that I recognized (Paperback Writer, Blackbird, Hey Jude, Yesterday, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, Let it Be, Live and Let Die) I got so excited and it finally hit me how amazing it was that I was watching Paul McCartney perform. It was the next best thing to actually seeing The Beatles.
Here is a video I took! Blackbird has always been a favorite song of mine and his voice was mesmerizing and gave me goosebumps.
