So my hairdresser of 7 YEARS, Kirsten Klontz, is on her way to Dubai soon to chase her dreams and style amazing hair for editorial shoots. This is absolutely fabulous news for her and I couldn’t be happier for her, but absolutely terrible news for me because I’m losing my friend and most trusted stylist. I’ve followed this hairdresser to two different salons, and I’m pretty sure I’d follow her to Dubai if it was even remotely a possibility! Kirsten has done my hair since my college days, when I still had more hair to play with. I explained a bit more about my hair history in a post about my last hair appointment, when I went back to a platinum blond pixie with lilac highlights.
Last Friday was my first appointment with a new stylist at Mousy Browns. Nina came highly recommended by Kirsten and although I trust her judgement, I just didn’t know what to expect. I explained that I was nervous but open to ideas. We decided to touch up my roots and soften the purple to an even more subtle lilac. After rinsing out the bleach, Nina discovered that my purple highlights had gone PINK! I wasn’t freaked out at all because I had wanted to try a new color anyways, so we went with it. Nina made the amazing recommendation to try going blush all over. She showed me this article in InStyle with Michelle Williams, who is one of my hair muses (a few others being Ginnifer Goodwin and Agyness Deyn):

I fell so far and so hard in love! Like butterflies in your stomach from excitement kind of love. We went for a warmer pink tone throughout my hair, with a touch of vibrant pink in my bangs. She cut my sides and back short again. I am almost convinced that this should be my new “natural” hair color! I’m so thankful that I work in an industry where I can get away with doing crazy things to my hair.
