It all started when a friend asked me how to change the fonts on her WordPress website this week (I’m looking at you, miss J!). I started doing some research to find some answers for her, and I realized that I couldn’t even change the fonts on my own darn blog. Naturally, being the nit-picky designer that I am, I immediately wanted to update my blog so that it would feel fresh, new, exciting and inspiring, AND so that I could change my own darn fonts. To me, this meant finding a theme that I could easily work with (hey, I ain’t no programming wizard), and upgrading to WordPress Premium so that I could customize this space a bit more.
WELL! Hello new blog! Dutchie Love has a brand new outfit complete with a hand-drawn logo that I created. I must say, I’m quite excited by the giant images and the clean, modern typography. It’s a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t be more happy with this little space of the internet that belongs to me. I’m hoping this will be the perfect push for me to focus more on my photography skills (or lack thereof) and ensure that everything I’m including here is high quality.
The only thing about this upgrade that is kinda sorta a bummer is that most of the imagery that I uploaded to posts in my previous theme were much smaller, so a lot of my old posts aren’t necessarily going to look the greatest. From now on all of my new posts will have large and in charge imagery, but I can’t say that I’m motivated whatsoever to re-save all the images for my old posts at larger sizes. I’m asking for your forgiveness for my laziness 😉 Hey, at least I’ll be blogging more often this year!
What do you think of the new look? Digging it?
