Fangirl Gang Fall Fashion with Diamond Cake

Can you believe the warm weather we’re having this fall? It’s mid October and I’m still walking around in a t-shirt. Not just any old t-shirt, but my Fangirl Gang t-shirt from Diamond Cake! Earlier this year they asked me to help them out with some custom typography for their new line of apparel, and I couldn’t resist. This is the design that we came up with together. Collaborations are so much fun!

Christina and Kelsie, the dynamic duo behind Diamond Cake, are definitely forever friend material. We met in design school at Grant MacEwan University, when they were in the photography program with Nathan. After university they started their own wedding photography business, and years later, they photographed our wedding because I couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing our day. In the last few years they’ve started an apparel line, an Etsy store, and a YouTube channel for fangirl fanatics just like them. Straight up #Girlboss.

A knotted t-shirt and a black maxi skirt is the perfect casual Friday outfit. The black hem around the collar and the sleeves of this t-shirt gives it a bit of a sporty feel, which is perfect for me because I love to mix masculine and feminine elements in one outfit. Don’t let it fool you though – sports and I don’t get along. I leave sports to the more coordinated and less klutzy people in my life. I’ll just walk around the field across from my house and pretend like I’m Sporty Spice instead!

I  love the zipper detail on this maxi skirt, with a slit on the side for a bit of edge. For an easy transition from the office to a night out with the girls, glam it up with some statement earrings and a bright pink lip. It’s fairly apparent that statement t-shirts aren’t going anywhere, so I’m stoked to have this one in my closet!
